Virtual Doylestown Arts Festival

To our many friends in the community and beyond,

2020 is not the year any of us expected. From the incredible experience many of us shared in 2019 we couldn't wait to share this year with you all. The world had other plans. It is with a heavy heart that we share the decision to cancel the physical 2020 Doylestown Arts Festival. We will be moving ahead with a virtual event to spotlight our talented artists and local partners. Details on this will be announced in the coming weeks. Our friends at the Bucks County Classic have worked with us on this difficult choice and we want to thank them for their support.

The small group of volunteers who work tirelessly on this event year after year have not lost sight of the fact that current events have hurt so many in our community. It brings us great sadness to add one more cancellation to a year that has had a seemingly endless string of them. We have spoken with many of our artists, community partners, and have reviewed the reopening guidelines. It quickly became apparent that even if we would be able to hold the event, it would be a skeleton in comparison to the experience we have all come to love. Please know this decision is absolutely heartbreaking for everyone involved but we strongly believe it is the right one. We also believe that the decision had to be made now - just 3 months from our scheduled event - for the sake of our many vendors and the community at large.

We could not accept the notion that this beloved tradition could put any of you at risk. We also will not risk the health, time, and efforts of our artists and vendors. For 29 years volunteers have worked to ensure this event would create a lasting impact. We want to ensure that it can continue far into the future. There is simply too much to risk.

There are better days are ahead. We will return in 2021. We will celebrate the arts. And we'll do it together. Thank you for continuing to support this tradition that has captured our hearts and brings such happiness to our small town.
