CB Cares - Martin Luther King Day of Service

  • Second Baptist Church of Doylestown 6055 Swamp Road Doylestown, PA 18901 United States (map)

MLK day of service is part of a nation-wide effort uniting volunteers from America’s small towns to large cities in honor of Dr. King’s legacy.

As our country observes and honors the great Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., CB Cares EF will mark its 16th anniversary for hosting and organizing the largest suburban MLK Day of Service outside Philadelphia. The community is invited to begin the day of keeping Dr. King’s dream alive by joining with CB Cares Educational Foundation for an Opening Ceremony on Monday, January 21st beginning at 8:30 am at Second Baptist Church of Doylestown.  To honor of his revolutionary spirit, reflections will be shared by a special  keynote speaker Sonja Burrus as well as special performances by Central Bucks students, the Second Baptist Youth Dance Ministry and Second Baptist Back Bench Boys.

Over the years, thousands of volunteers have participated in area service projects and this year will be no exception with many families making it a day ON across the region.  For opportunities to participate and volunteer in one of the service projects after the ceremony check out opportunities https://cb-cares.org/get-invested/volunteer/–  Walk-ins are welcome.

CLOTHING DRIVE: There will be a clothing drive to benefit a Woman’s Place at the church. We will be sorting and organizing clothing donations that day.
