An Evening with Paul Zelinsky

  • Mercer Museum 84 S Pine Street Doylestown, PA 18901 (map)

Join our friends from Booktenders Secret Garden Chidlren’s Bookstore and Gallery as they welcome author Paul Zelinsky to the Mercer Museum on Thursday October 25th at 7 PM.

Recently there has been a lot in the news about Glioblastoma, the illness (brain tumor) that struck Senator McCain and Beau Biden. I have a cousin who was diagnosed and now Lynn and Shelly Taylor, long time Doylestown residents, supporters and friends are facing this frightening disease with the diagnosis of their 15 year old granddaughter Maggie. I wanted to do something to help raise funds to support the research into this disease and now everything has come together. The Mercer Museum offered a place to have an event and the amazing Caldecott award Illustrator, Paul O Zelinsky, is available to come to Doylestown to give a presentation followed by an autographing of his delightful new Picture Book title for the Holiday Season, the All-of-a-Kind Family Hanukkah.

Doors open at 6 PM and the presentation will begin at 7 PM. Tickets are $25 and include a seat at the program for an adult & child (add $5 per extra family member to be added to the donation) and a copy of the book which our guest will sign after the program. Each book sold will generate a donation to the Glioblastoma Foundation of $10.00 ($5.00 from the purchaser and $5.00 from Booktenders).

If you pre-purchase a copy at Booktenders between 10/7 & 10/17 you will received a raffle ticket for a $100 basket made up of items from local stores and a special discount on non event purchases on that day. You may also call to reserve your spot and pay over the phone. If you can't attend that evening, but you still want to join the donation and have the book signed, you can pre-purchase and we will have the book signed for you. Any questions? Please call me.

I hope that you will join me in supporting this event and having a terrific night with our wonderful guest!
